Diversity of Amphibians and Reptiles in Shandong Province of China

Abstract:Up to now, 37 species of amphibians and reptiles have been found in Shandong Province of China, of which 3 species are the new record in the province. 10 species belong to 2 orders and 5 families of amphibians, including Cynops orientalis, Bombina orientalis, Bufo gargarizans, B. raddei, Rana chensinensis, R. japonica, R. limnocharis, R. nigromaculata, R. p. plancyi and Kaloula borealis. 27 species belong to 2 orders and 9 families of reptiles, including Chinemys reevesii, Caretta caretta, Chelonia mydas, Eretmochelys imbricate, Dermochelys coriacea, Pelodiscus sinensis, Gekko swinhonis, Eremias arguta, E. brenchleyi, Takydromus septentrionalis, Eumeces chinensis, E. elegans, Coluber spinalis, Dinodon rufozonatum, Elaphe bimaculata, E. carinata, E. davidi, E. dione, E. rufodorsata, E. anomala, E. taeniura, Rhabdophis tigrinus lateralis, Hydrophis caerulescens, H. cyanocinctus, H. ornatus, Lapemis curtus and Gloydius saxatilis.
