Study on Gamasid Mite Communities of small Mammal in Southwestern Sichuan Province

Abstract:32 species, 1787 individuals of gamasid mite collected on small mammals from July 1987 to November 1988 in southwestern Sichuan Province. The structure of gamasid mite communities of hosts including Apodemus chevrieri, Apodemus latronum and Rattus niviventer were complicated, with high diversity indices. The dominant species were outstanding in some hosts, such as Eulaelaps stabularis was dominant species for A. latronum and A. chevrieri, Laelaps fukienensis for Rattus niviventer, Eulaelaps dremomydis for Dremonys lokriah, Hirstionyssus shensiensis for Crocidura attenuate, Laelaps chini for Eothenomys melanogaster, Laelaps echidninus for R. norvegicus and Mus pahari, but not very outstanding for the other 12 species of small mammal hosts.
