Abstract:It’s difficult to find animals and get biomaterial in the fields to support molecular studies. In recent years, along with the improvement of PCR and DNA extract technology, to obtain fresh tissue is not the only option any more, especially when dealing with highly endangered animals. Technological advances have made it possible to extract DNA from a variety of sources, including drops of blood, single hair, feather, nail, saliva, feces, bone, even fossils.
