Daily Time Budget of the Captive Adult Female Macaca fascicularis and the Inspire for Depression Model Evaluation

Abstract:

Forty Macaca fascicularis were observed in Su Zhou Xishan Zhongke Lab Animal Co.Ltd.from January to June in 2011. The behavior of Macaca fascicularis was recorded using focal animal sampling method and analyzed by NOLDUS Observer XT software. The result indicated that resting behavior occupied the largest proportion of the observation time, followed by the social communication, ingestion and locomotive behavior; fighting and copulation behavior were the least. The baby monkey was observed effective to its mother’s social communication and locomotion for increasing these duration time level. The correlation between age with locomotion behavior and copulation behavior was inversed.
