Abstract:The digestive system of Odorrana tormota has been anatomically and histologically studied. The results show that, the digestive tract consists of the mouth cavity, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, duodenum, ileum, rectum and the endmost openings in the cloaca; and the alimentary glands include the liver and the pancreas. The digestive tract wall is composed of four layers which are the mucosa, submucousa, muscularis, and serosa. Gastric glands, evidently consisting of the neck and the body, are abundant in the mucosa. The intestinal glands include the Brunner’s gland and the rectal gland. The liver is obviously divided into three lobes which are left, middle and right lobes, and the boundaries among hepatic lobules are not distinct. The acinus of the pancreas is surrounded by acinus cells. The ratio of the total length of intestine to the snout-vent length is 0.44~0.91, which is the minimum for tailless amphibians so far.
