Effect of Beta-cypermethrin on Lysozyme Activity in Hepatopancreas and Kidney of Grass Carp

Abstract:The change on the activity of lysozyme in hepatopancreas and kidney of grass carp exposed to different concentration of beta-cypermethrin was researched. The concentrations of the 5 group samples of beta-cypermethrin used in the experiment were 0 µg/L, 0.5 µg/L, 1.0 µg/L, 3.0 µg/L and 5.0 µg/L respectively. The first day, fifth day and twelfth day of each group of beta-cypermethrin were utilized to determine the activity of hepatopancreas and kidney lysozyme. Results showed that all groups of hepatopancreas LSZ activities decreased remarkably (P<0.05, P<0.01) when exposed to the first day, fifth day and twelfth day of the samples. In the case of kidney, when exposed to the first day and fifth day, the LSZ activities for the 0.5 µg/L, 1.0 µg/L and 3.0 µg/L groups increased significantly (P<0.05, P<0.01). Meanwhile, the LSZ activities for the 5.0 µg/L group decreased remarkably (P<0.01). When exposed to the twelfth day, the LSZ activities for the 0.5 µg/L and 1.0 µg/L groups increased significantly (P<0.05). Accordingly, the LSZ activities for the 3.0 μg/L and 5.0 µg/L group decreased remarkably (P<0.05, P <0.01). In conclusion, beta-cypermethrin have significant toxic effect on the hepatopancreas and kidney of grass carp.
