The Karyotypes of Three Species of Rana (Ranidae)

Abstract:The karyotypes of three species of Rana (fragilis, macrodactyla and weiningensis) were studied. All the three species had the same diploid number of chromosomes, 2n=26 with 5 large and 8 small pairs. Differences occurred in arm ratio and secondary constriction. No heteromorphic chromosomes were found in the three species.
