Avian Fauna of Haizishan Natural Reserve in Sichuan Province

Abstract:The avian fauna in Haizishan Natural Reserve was surveyed from October to December, 2003 and June to September, 2004 and 210 bird species were recorded during the survey. 82.86% of the species are resident and summer types. Avian funna are composed of 44.8% species of Palaearctic realm species, 40.8% of Oriental realm species and 14.4% of epidemic species. Thirty species are national protected wild animal species, 11 are endemic species of China, which accounied for 15.9% of endemic species of China and 20 species are CITES listed, 8 species are IUCN listed, 14 species are Red listed species of China. Vertical distribution of avifunna shows the percentage of Palaearctic realm species, Oriental realm species, epidemic species and most of distribution patterns don’t always increasing or decresing with the elevation, but changes as waving style.
