Abstract:Macaca mulatta tcheliensis is a native subspecies of rhesus macaque to China, and they are mainly found in the southern area of Mt. Taihangshan where located at the boundary between Henan and Shanxi provinces. To know more about the biological background of this subspecies, we examined the hemogram and blood biochemical parameters for free ranging individuals in Jiyuan city, Henan province. The results showed that: 1) accounts of lymph cell (P=0.019) and middle cell (P=0.017) in females were significantly larger than that in males, while the mean platelet volume (MPV) in females was significantly less than males (P=0.046); 2) the detected glucose (GLU), cholesterin (CH), triglyceride(TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) values in females were not significantly higher than in males. We compared our results against other studies in this article.
