Study on Changes in HBsAg Expression and Glutamic-pyruvic Transaminase Levels with Age in C57BL/6J-HBV Transgenic Mice

Abstract:Objective To investigate the changes in HBsAg expression and glutamic-pyruvic transaminase levels with age in C57BL/6J-HBV transgenic mice. Methods HBV transgenic mice were divided into two groups according toS/C.O value. Serum HBsAg were measured by using ELISA assay every other week from four-weeks to ten-weeks in all mice and the glutamic-pyruvic transaminase level was determined by automatic biochemical analyzer every other week from five-weeks to eleven-weeks old. Results HBsAg expression in six-week old mice went up markedly compared with four-week old individuals in the first group.HBsAg expression in six-week old male mice went down significantly (P0.01) in comparison to four-week olds in the second group while no obvious changes were observed from four-weeks to ten-weeks old in female mice of the same group. ALT levels of nine-week old male mice was lower (P<0.05) than that of seven-week olds in the first group. AST levels of eleven-week old male mice was higher than that of seven-week old mice in the first group. Conclusion The change in HBsAg expression was different because of different S/C.O values and variations in ALT and AST was reversefrom five-week to eleven-week olds in HBV transgenic mice.
