A Study on -80℃ Cryopreservation Techniques of Monopterus albuus Spermatozoa

Abstract:In this paper, the -80℃ cryopreservation techniques of Monopterus albuus spermatozoa were studied. The following results were obtained: Before -80℃ cryopreservation, a lower-temperature equilibrium process was not needed; if 10% DMSO was used as an anti-freezing protective agent, the sperm relative activity was higher than that of others; if 10% DMSO was used as an anti-freezing protective agent and 200 μL centrifuge tubes used as freezing containers, the sperm relative activity increased to 79% when preserved 168 h; Moreover, when thin tubes were used as containers, the sperm relative activity was 88%, when preserved the same period of time. The results of the study would be an experimental basis for the establishment of a Monopterus albuus sperm cryopreservation library.
