Abstract:In order to obtain baseline data on blood parameters and biochemical characteristics of beagle blood for experimental references, 270 dogs, aged 6~8 months and weighing 7~9 kg (135 female and 135 male), were measured with a Sysmex automatic hematology analyzer and OLYMPUS-2700 automatic chemistry analyzer. In 19 blood parameters there were no significant difference between females and males (P>0.05), while 4 hematological parameters including MPV (P<0.05), PCT (P<0.05), PDW (P<0.05) and Ret (P<0.05) had significant differences from other domestically reported results. Additionally, 1 serum biochemical parameter ALP (P<0.05) was significantly different between females and males. Nine serum biochemical indices had no significant difference between females and males (P>0.05). The data in this research could provide a reference for experiments involving beagles.
