Abstract:Double-antibody sandwich photochemical method and immunohistochemistry were used to investigate the levels of androgen, estrogen and progesterone and the distribution of their receptors in tissues of Raillietina tetragona. The results showed that the testosterone level increased in the scolex and was highest in the immature proglottid, then decreased, with the minimum level in the gravid proglottid. Progesterone in the scolex, neck and immature proglottid were almost equally high. It decreased and reached a minimum in the mature progolttid, then increased slightly. The main level of progesterone is higher than that of testosterone. There was no value for estrogen. The androgen receptors were almost distributed in the male reproductive organs,  the strogen receptors were found in the female reproductive organs; there was no significant immunopositive progesterone receptor in the tissues.
