Effects of Initial Feeds on the Growth and Survival of Young Paa boulenger

Abstract: Four groups of young frogs, Paa boulenger, were raised with four initial feeds, Chironomidae midges larvae, Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri, Musca demestica, and an artificial commercial diet for 28 days to investigate the effects of these diets on the growth and survival of these frogs. The results showed that feeding with an artificial commercial diet resulted in the slowest growth rate of frogs and the lowest survival rate (61.88%), whereas both the survival rate and growth rate of frogs on C. midges larvae were significantly higher (79.38%) than the others. The data suggested that larvae of C. midges were the best initial diet for the young frogs.
