Abstract:The morphological structure of the digestive system of Leiothrix lutea was investigated. 10 (6♀4♂) Leiothrix lutea were observed with the naked eye and OLYMPUS dissection microscope. The results showed that there are many setae in the front of the tongue, and tuber-like structures on the root of the tongue pointing backside. Many irregular papillae are distributed on the surface of the pharynx. The esophagus is thin, and there is no craw that could be seen obviously. There are short and small papilla on the surface of the glandular stomach. The muscular stomach is well developed and covered with a yellow horniness inside. The length of the intestine is 0.94 times as long as the whole body.
