Abstract:From November 2007 to November 2008, three typical avian communities in farmland, river wetland and lake wetland were studied in Yingzhou West Lake Provincial Wetland Nature Reserve, Fuyang City, Anhui Province. A total of 132 species were recorded, which belong to 15 orders, 34 families and 75 genera, with 27 residents, 22 summer visitors, 34 winter visitors, and 49 migrants. There were 86 species belonging to the Palearctic realm, 28 species belonging to the Oriental realm, and 18 species widely distributed. The results show that the Huaibei plain, where the nature reserve is located, lies in the transition zone between the Palaearctic and Oriential regions.
