The histology of the digestive system of Onchidium verruculatum is described in this paper. The results showed that the digestive system of O. verruculatumconsisted of the digestive tract and digestive glands. The digestive tract was composed of a mouth, esophaugus, cardiac stomach, pyloric stomach, intestine, and rectum. A proboscis doesn’t exist in this species. The digestive glands were comprised of the hepatopancreas, anal gland, and salivary gland. Under the microscope, the digestive tract was surrounded by a wall consisting of four principal layers: mucous membrane, submucosa, lamina musularis, and adventitia. The muscle layer was mainly made up of annular lamina muscularis; the mucous membrane was mainly made up of columnar cells. The hepatopancreas was well developed and the organizational structure showed that the hepatopancreas was made up of many branches of gland pipes which consisted of some kinds of epithelium, such as glandular cells and secretive cells. The salivary and anal glands of O. verruculatumwere fully developed.
