A New Record of Leptobrachella wulingensis in Guizhou Province

Abstract:During the surveys in the Fanjingshan National Nature Reserve and Leigongshan National Nature Reserve of Guizhou Province, from April to June 2016, 2 toad specimens were collected. We compared the specimens with other species of Leptobrachella by morphological and molecular. On morphology, the specimens resemble L. wulingensis, and phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that the 2 specimens were clustered as sister to L. wulingensis. The genetic distance between our specimens and L. wulingensis from its type locality was 1.6%, lower than that between Leptobrachella species. Based on morphological and molecular comparisons, the specimens were classified as L. wulingensis, which is the new record of this species in Guizhou Province, China.
