Intestinal Parasites Infection of Wild Macaca mulatta in Mianyang, Sichuan Province

Abstract:100 wild Macaca mulattas samples were collected from Mianyang area to monitor the infection rate and the infection intensity of intestinal parasites by saturate saline flotation and eggs precipitate collection method respectively. The results showed that there were eight kinds of principal intestinal parasites and the aggregate infection rate was 78%. The infection rate of trematode, whipworm, pinworm, ancylostome, ascaris, taenia hydatigena, coccidian, strongylid was 50.0%, 48.0%, 41.0%, 32.0%, 26.0%, 16.0%, 4.0%, 4.0%, respectively. Infection intensity of whipworm and pinworm were“+ + + +”, trematode and ancylostome were“+ + +”, ascaris was“+ +”, tapeworm, coccidian and nematode were “+”. The results indicated that intestinal parasitism of wild Macaca mulatta in this area was widespread and the infection intensity was comparatively high.
