The Morphology Description of the Larval Emeia pseudosauteri at Different Instars

Abstract:The paper reported the morphology of each instar of the larval Emeia pseudosauteri, and preliminarily studied the molting of the larvae and the process. The larval E. pseudosauteri has 8 instars, and along with the increasing of instar, the body colour will darken gradually, the surface of body begins to grow bristle and becomes increasingly hard and incisive from the third instar, the luminous organ gradually becomes clearer and protrudes from the surface, and the ciliums of caudal legs gradually becomes long and dense with deeper colour. The larva will attach auxiliary things and get rid of its skin, and then the body colour will gradually tan from light pink. This paper provides basic data for the breeding and industrial application of E. pseudosauteri.
