Life Table and Population Dynamic Analysis of Captive Rhinopithecus roxellana

Abstract:The life table, mortality curve, survival curve, and innate increase capacity were estimated through analyzing the age structure, reproductive efficiency and sex ratio of 785 captive golden snub-nosed monkeys (Rhinopithecus roxellana) from worldwide. The results showed that captive R. roxellana had long life expectancy, low mortality and small fluctuations of population numbers, and this suggested that captive R. roxellana had relatively stable ecological characteristics. Furthermore, the net reproductive rate, innate rate of increase and finite rate of increase were 2.674 6, 0.095 28/year and 1.100 0, respectively. All of those factors indicated that captive R. roxellana was a relatively stable population up to date.
