Abstract:This paper deals with a preliminary study on fresh-water crabs in Sichuan. It presents 7 species, including 2 new species. The salient feature of these new species are given below, All these specimens are deposited in Fisheries Research Institute of Sichuan Province. 1. Sinopotamo chengkuense sp. nov. (P1. Ⅰ. figs. 1-4; P1. Ⅱ. fig. 1) Holotype: 1♂; Allotype: 1♀; Paratype: 1♀, Chengku, Sept. 1981. Diagnosis: Carapace slightly convex. Regions distinct. With 4-5 serrated teeth at the extra-orbital edge and 13-15 small denticles at antero-lateral margin. The first abdominal appendage is robust, the basal part of the last segment being prominent and directed innerwards. Comparison: This new species is allied to S. joshueiense Tai et al. 1975, but the first abdominal appendage is more robust, the basal part of the last segment being prominent. The distal end hollowed. 2. Sinopotamon ebianense sp. nov. (P1. Ⅰ. figs. 5-7; P1. Ⅱ. fig. 2) Holotype: 1♂; Allotype: 1♀; Paratype: 11♂♂, 13♀♀, Ebian Jul. 1982, 3♂♂, 3♀♀, Emei, Jul. 1982. Diagnosis: Carapace convex and rough. With 10 serrated teeth small and blunt at the extra-orbital edge and 15-20 small denticles at antero-lateral margin. The first abdominal appendage is robust, the end of the last segment being round, prominent, and slight. Comparison: S. ebianense is closely related to S. yaanense Chung et Ts’ao. The differences between them are given below: Characters S. yaanense S. ebianense sp. nov. 1. surface of carapace flattened and smooth slightly convex and rough 2. gap between two fingers of chelipeds smaller larger 3. the first abdominal appendage of the male slightly robust, last segment tapered narrowly, last segment thick, directed upwards. robust, round, prominent, and slight at the distal end of the last segment.
