Abstract:Aedes (Ochlerotatus) sedaensis sp. nov.

The new species is closely related to Aedes(Och.) pullatus and Aedes(Och.)

implicatus. The differences are tabulated below:

Type specimens: Holotype 1♀, All otype 1♂; Par atypes 3♀♀, 2♂♂, 5 larvae. All are deposited in Department of Malaria, Institute of Ant iparasitic Diseases, Sichuan Academy of Medical Sciences, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China.

Samples were collected in 1983 and 1987 from pools with clean water in plateau of sea level over 3,000 meters in Seda and Songpan Counties, Sichuan Province. All the larvae collected from Songpan County were cultivated to adults.
