New Subspecies and New Records of Ectoprocta from China (Cheilostomata:Cribrilinidae)

Abstract:

In recent studies of Chinese Bryozoa, a new subspecies was found in the

material collected from the East China Sea, Zhoushan Archipelago. The type specimens are depositedin the Depar tment of Biology, Hangzhou University.

Membraniporella aragoi zhoushanicasubsp. nov.

Holotype: No. C74 collected from intertidal zone in the Pudo Island on June 1957Paratypes 3NOC75-77 from the same licality and at the same time.

This new subspecies differs from Membraniporella aragoi pacifica Osburn 1950 in

two aspects. (1)The distal part:no spine in the new subspeciesbut terminates in the latter(2)At each side of the orifice:there is a longer spine in the new onebut a short flattened spine with 2 or 3 very Short points in the latter

The new records of Ectoprocta are Thalamoporella lioticha (Ortmann1890)Flabellopora umbonata (Haswell1880) and Tubulipora flabellaris (Fabricius1875).
