Hipposideros lylei Found in Baoshan City, Yunnan Province

Abstract:During the survey on bat diversity in August, 2012, 16 bats (ten males and six females) were collected using mist nets in XianrenCave(24°21' N, 99°21' E),LonglingCounty,Baoshan City,YunnanProvince. Their body sizes are relatively large with the head and body of 73.9~89.0 mm and the forearm of 76.0~81.3 mm. The noseleaf has two small lateral supplementary leaflets. The anterior leafnose is 8.20~10.09 mm wide, with an evident median emargination 1.25~2.01 mm in depth. The lateral margins of anterior and posterior noseleaves are connected. They were identified as Hipposideros lylei. 6 specimens (three males and three females) were preserved in theCollegeofLife Science,HenanNormalUniversity. The morphological characteristics, external and skull measurements were provided together with their habitat.
