Abstract:
Amynthas cheni sp. nov. (Figs. 13)
Body rather small, length 46-85 mm, diameter 2.0—3.0 mm, segments 59—107. Prostomium 1/2 epilobous. First dorsal pore in 11/12. Clitellum in ⅩⅣⅩⅥ, without setae on it.
Setae enlarge conspicuously before , and fine after . Their numbers:24—32/, 27—34/, 32—46/, 32-42/ⅩⅩ, 31—44/ⅩⅩⅤ; 6—9(ⅩⅧ) between male pores, 8-12(), 11—18()between spermathecal pores.
Male pores one pair on the ventro-lateral sides of ⅩⅧ, each situated on atiny protuberance. Two small papillae in tersegmental on 17/18 and 18/19 and slight ventrally to each male pore.
Female pore single, on usual position.
Spermathecal pores two pairs in 7/8 and 8/9 or three pairs in 6/7—8/9, about 2/5 of circumference ventrally apart. There are 2—10 papillae on the ventral sides of .
Septa 5/6 — 7/8 rather thick, 8/9 and 9/10 absent, other thin. Caeca simple, extending anteriorly to ⅩⅩⅣ.
Testis sacs two pairs in and , communicated. Seminal vesicles two pairs in and . Accessory glands round chunk on 17/18 and 18/19, with short coiled ducts.
Spermathecae two pairs in and or three pairs in , , and . Ampulla heart-shaped, about 2.0 — 2.5 mm long. Diverticullum slight shorter than main pounch. Seminal chambers round or epilticl or long sac-shaped. Accessory glands round chunk with short coiled ducts on the ventral sides of -.
Holotype: GZ-T00106B(1), 65 mm long, 2.0 mm wide, 101 segments. Setae number: 28/, 32/, 43/, 42/ⅩⅩ, 44/ⅩⅩⅤ, 9 (ⅩⅧ) between male ores and 12 (), 18 () between spermathecal pores. Paratypes: GZ-T00114B (1), GZ-T00116C(1), GZ-T00145A (3), GZ-T00118C(1), GZ-T00126C (2), GZ-T00130C (4), GZ-T00131B (2), GZ-T00132B(1), GZ-T00138C (1), GZ-T00139B (2), GZ-T00142B (4), GZ-T00143A (1), GZ-T00149B (4), GZ-T00144A (5), GZ-T00146A (4), GZ-T00147C (2), GZ-T00151A (1), GZ-T00156B (2),GZ-T00157B(2). GZ-T00158A (3), GZ-T00162B (2) and GZ-T00163C (6) 56 specimens, both holotype and paratypes were collected from Mt. Fanjin (108º46´E, 27º53´N), Guizhou, China. Alt. 9002360 m.
This species mainly populated in the mosses of tree trunk, crotch and rock or populated in the humus of tree foot, crotch and rock.
In several aspects the new species is similar to Amynthas jaoi (Chen 1946), such as the appearance, the habitat. Meanwhile, part individuals of the new species have three pairs of spermathecal pores, in 6/78/9. But it differs from Amynthas jaoi by the first dorsal pore in 11/12; the round or epiltical or longsac-shaped seminal chamber; the rather small seminal vesicles and the different arrangement of the papillae on the body.
