A New Record of Tylonycteris robustula in Jiangxi Province, China and its Karyotype

Abstract:One small female bat was collected from Jinggangshan,Jiangxiprovince in August, 2013. Its main characteristics are: small size, light weight (only4.7 g), the forearm length is 25.21 mm, with well-developed pads at the bases of the thumbs and hindfeet, flattened skull, and the braincase height being about 1/2 of the braincase width. The species was identified as Tylonycteris robustula according to its flattened skull and pelage color, and this is the first record of this species inJiangxiprovince. However, the karyotype of Tylonycteris robustula is 2n=32, FN=52.
