Abstract:To understand intestinal parasite infection of black-and-white snub-nosed monkey Rhinopithecus bieti, three methods (filter precipitate method, saturated brine flotation method, Kato’s thick smear method) were employed to exam parasite eggs in fecal samples. A total of 225 feces samples were collected from a group (90 individuals, occurs at Tacheng, Weixi, Yunnan) of black-and-white snub-nosed monkeys. Gender, unit, age and collecting time of each individual were recorded. The results showed that infection of Trichuris sp. was different between adult and juvenile; the infection of Ancylostoma sp. and Oesophagostomum sp. were seasonally different, the highest infect rate was observed in raining season. Moreover, Capillaria hepatica and Ascaris sp. were observed with low detection rate.
