Abstract:Abstract: Objective To explore when leptin-Stat3 in nucleus accumbens of Brandt’s Voles has been inhibited whether their metabolism and weight can be greatly infected or not. Methods Inhibitor of Jak/Stat3(WP1066) was injected into Brandt’s Vole’s nucleus accumbens , and then basic metabolism was tested by TSE metabolic cage system. Finally, we recorded the change of Brandt’s Vole’s weight. Results After Inhibitor of Jak/Stat3 was injected into Brandt’s Vole’s nucleus accumbens, the level of P-Stat3 and leptin descended significantly in Brandt’s Vole’s nucleus accumbens (P<0.05), however, there is no significant difference in the level of serum leptin and blood glucose (P>0.05). In the experiment of TSE metabolic cage system, it showed that energy expenditure, cumulative O2 expenditure and cumulative activity decreased significantly and respiratory exchange rate and cumulative drink increased significantly in experimental group(P<0.05). It also showed that the average body weight increased significantly in experimental group(P<0.05). Conclusion leptin-Stat3 pathway blocked in nucleus accumbens of Brandt’s Voles can influence energy metabolism, and then change their body weight in a short time.
