The stable isotope analysis technology is widely used in the field of avian ecology research, such as bird migration, trophic level relationship, life history, feeding, etc. And specific tissue should be selected according to different research purposes and requirements. Therefore, it is particularly important to understand different tissue's stable isotope turnover rate. Studies of avian tissues stable isotope turnover and their difference are relatively limited for relevant domestic research, thus the common hypothesis on turnover, methods, and influencing factors of international research were reviewed in this paper, aiming to provide the basis for the use of stable isotope technology in ornithology research.
